3rd test delicately poised after 3-days between West Indies and New Zealand

The 3rd and final test between West Indies and New Zealand is intriguingly poised after 3-days at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Resuming on Saturday's 3rd day, West Indies were well positioned at 169-2, and captain Denesh Ramdin must surely have been looking for a much bigger first innings lead than the 24 runs he got. The Windies were restricted by the left arm medium fast bowling of Neil Wagner 4-64 and right arm fast medium Trent Boult 2-71. Jimmy Neesham got in on the act and claimed 2-12 as the West Indies lost their last eight wickets for 148 runs. Kirk Edwards fell for 58, while skipper Denesh Ramdin buttressed the Windies total with a fighting 45 supported by test debutante Jason Holder 38. Holder was selected as a fast bowler on the team.

New Zealand batting a second time were soon in trouble. They lost Tom Latham, Hamish Rutherford and Ross Taylor with only 68 runs on the board and teetering on collapse. But Kane Williamson 58 and skipper Brendon McCullum 23 took the Black Caps to stumps without any further hiccup via an unbroken 4th wicket partnership of 55 runs for an overall lead of 99 runs.

Kemar Roach has so far claimed 2-30 and Jason Holder 1-9.

Scores again after day-3: New Zealand 293 and 123-3; West Indies 317
