All-rounder Daley dropped from Windies women's team

Jamaican all-rounder Shanel Daley has missed out on selection to the final 13-member squad for the West Indies women's three match One Day International series against Sri Lanka starting October 11. The 28 year old left-hander has played 70 ODIs for the Windies women and was a part of the Caribbean squad at the recent 50 over World Cup in England. In Daley's absence, two other Jamaicans, captain Stafanie Taylor and Chedean Nation have been picked in the side.

Meanwhile, fast bowlers Shakera Selman and Shamilia Connell have returned to the squad after both suffered injuries during the Women's World Cup in England in July.

Selman was struck on the helmet while fielding at short leg during the team's opening match against Australia, while Connell injured her hip during the match against India. Kycia Knight and Subrina Munroe replaced the pair for the rest of the tournament. Kycia keeps her place in the squad for the Sri Lanka series alongside sister Kyshona Knight, while Munroe misses out.

The squad is completed by vice-captain Anisa Mohammed, Merissa Aguilleira, Reniece Boyce, Deandra Dottin, Afy Fletcher, Hayley Matthews and Akeira Peters.

The three ODIs will form part of the ICC Women's Championship and will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, on October 11, 13 and 15.
