Alvaranga records PB at World Junior Swimming Championships

Nathaniel Thomas and Zaneta Alvaranga posted personal best performances on day 4 of the World Junior Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary. Alvaranga finished 5th in her heat and 43rd overall after clocking a personal best 31.35 seconds in the women's 50 metre backstroke, but failed to advance to the semis. 

Gabrianna Banks was disqualified from her heat. Nicholas Vale was the best placed Jamaican in the men's 50 metre butterfly despite finishing 9th in his heat. He clocked 25.83 seconds while Nathaniel Thomas was 59th overall after finishing 7th in his heat in 26.66.

Cameron Brown was the lone Jamaican in the men's 200 metre backstroke and clocked 2 minutes 39.03 seconds for 60th overall. Banks was again in action in the women's 200 metre individual medley in 2 minutes, 40.05.
