Ambris called in as cover at Windies WC camp

Following a successful stint with the bat in the just concluded tri-nation series with Bangladesh and Ireland, Vicentian Sunil Ambris has been called in as cover for Trinidadian Evin Lewis for the West Indies' four day camp in Southampton from May 19-22 as the team continues preparation for the World Cup. Ambris scored 278 runs and covers for Lewis who has recently recovered from a viral infection.

Meanwhile, left arm seamer Raymon Reifer will also stay for the camp as he covers for the bowling group as part of work load management. Reifer and Ambris are two of ten players who have been listed as reserves for the Caribbean team which sees Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard on the list.

The other six reserves are John Campbell, Jonathan Carter, Roston Chase, Shane Dowrich, Keemo Paul and Kharry Pierre. The Windies have also added another warm-up match before the tournament to facilitate the players who missed the tri nation series due to the Indian Premier League.

They will play Australia on the May 22 after which they play the first two scheduled matches against South Africa and New Zealand before taking on Pakistan on May 31 in their first game at the World Cup.
