After a three month wait, Jawani Forbes, the apprentice allegedly caught with an electrical device (popularly known as a battery) earlier this year, will have his case heard by the Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC) on April 8 at 5:00 pm. Allegations are that midway through the 10 race programme on January 5, Forbes was held at the starting gates with the electrical device in in his possession.
However, he was allowed to ride without it. Afterwards, an investigation was started by the stewards and preliminary statements were taken. The device was sent overseas for testing and further enquiries into the matter delayed the hearing.
