Arnett Gardens advance to CFU Club Championship final

Jamaican clubs had mixed results in the semi-finals of the Caribbean Club Championship as Arnett Gardens made progress to the final while defending Red Stripe Premier League champions Portmore United, will have to settle for the third place playoff. In the curtain raiser at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex on Friday, Portmore United lost 4-3 to Atletico Pantoja of the Dominican Republic. Ricardo Morris, Javon East and Jeremie Lynch scored the goals for Portmore United.

In the later game, goals from Tamar Edwards and Marvin Morgan guided Arnett Gardens to a 2-0 victory over Central FC of Trinidad and Tobago and into the final against Atletico Pantoja set for Sunday. If Arnett Gardens defeat Atletico Pantoja in the final, then they will play in the 2019 edition of the CONCACAF Champions League while if they lose the final they will play in the 2018 CONCACAF League. A victory for Portmore United over Central FC would book their ticket to the CONCACAF League next year.
