Defending champions Arnett Gardens' recent winless run in the Red Stripe Premier League was extended on Monday when they held to a 0-0 draw by FC Reno at the Tony Spaulding Complex. The game played under wet conditions, failed to spark in the first half but both teams got better in the second half.
Despite this they were unable to break down each other's defence and played out a 0-0 stalemate after 90 minutes. With the point the ‘Junglists’ remained second on 38 points, six behind leaders Portmore United. Although holding Arnett to a draw, Reno's winless run was extended to 10 matches.
But the point sees them moving up three places to 6th in the standings on 25 points. Despite the absence of goals, Reno's Linval Wilson Junior was declared the match MVP. The competition continues on Wednesday with four matches, leaders Portmore United will be at home to Humble Lion.
Third placed Tivoli Gardens will host fourth placed Cavalier, Montego Bay United travel to Boys’ Town and Sandals South Coast visit Waterhouse.
