Atkinson misses out on 100m breaststroke final at FINA World Champs

Alia Atkinson missed out on making the final of women's 100m breaststroke event at the 18th FINA World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea on Monday. The four-time Olympian stopped the clock at 1 minutes, 07.11 seconds for joint fifth place with Switzerland's Lisa Mamie in semi-final one of the 100m breaststroke.

Her time ranked her 11th overall in the event. The 30-year-old Atkinson will look to rebound when she competes on Saturday in heat six of six of the 50 metre breaststroke. She is the silver medallist in that event from the 2015 edition.
