Australia clinical in wrapping up series 2-0

Disgrace.

Australia, unlike their Ashes counterparts England, completed the prelude to their summer blockbuster, by whipping the minnows West indies by 277 runs about 45 minutes after lunch on day-4 of the 2nd and final test at Sabina Park to complete a 2-0 series victory.

It was as complete and comprehensive a performance by the tough as nails Aussies. While for the West Indies it was a meek capitulation. A disgrace.

Set the improbable target of 392 runs to win in 2 days and a piece, and resuming the 4th day on 16-2, the West Indies were knocked back into reality if they were feeling good about themselves after tying their 2-match series against the world #3 ranked test team England.

Australia were relentless until they dispatched the Windies for 114, with captain Denesh Ramdin topscoring with 29, Veerasammy Permaul 23 not out and Shai Hope 16, against Josh Hazlewood 2-18 for match figures of 7-56, Mitchell Starc 3-34, Nathan Lyon 2-12 and Mitchell Johnson 2-23.

Australia will enjoy the extra day off, before regrouping for their summer blockbuster ashes 5-test series in England.

Man of the match was Steve Smith for his innings of 199 and 54 not out.

Final scores: Australia 399 and 212-2 declared; West Indies 220 and 114.
