'Axeman' suffers first pro loss

Report by RJR Group Senior Sports Reporter Kayon Raynor

Jamaica's Nicholas 'The Axeman’ Walters suffered the first defeat of his professional career after losing by technical knockout to Ukraine's Vasyl Lomachenko in their WBO Super Featherweight title fight in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

Walters informed the referee that he was unable to continue after round 7, meaning Lomachenko retained his title.

Walters' record now stands at 26-1-1 while the 29 year Lomachenko improved to 7 and 1 with 4 knockouts.
