Young Jamaican football sensation Leon Bailey is remaining tight lipped about where he will pledge his allegiance in international football. The 20 year old winger who is back home on vacation following the completion of the German Bundesliga season has been linked to representing England, Belgium, Germany and even Malta.
But Bailey says he will not be pressured into making a decision on his international career as to which country to play for and that includes the Reggae Boyz.
“I don’t like pressure so I don’t let myself feel pressured; I tend to just work hard and do what I have to do so that I don’t feel pressured by anything,” said Bailey who appeared on TVJ’s Eye On Sports programme on Thursday. But while Bailey remains coy about the matter, his father and agent Criag Butler says although not selected for England's World Cup squad, Bailey remains on the English radar.
“We have ongoing conversations with England; there are possibilities for them (Leon and younger brother Kyle Butler) to play for other countries but the reality is that our hearts will always remain in our homeland that we love,” said Butler.
