Chairman of the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC) and the Jamaica Racing Commision Clovis Metcalfe has sought to clarify a controversial statement he made on Saturday about entries for the Diamond Mile following the 4th running of the event at Caymanas Park.
During a live interview with TVJ Sports Network, Metcalfe said if anyone looked at the race, they would see six horses that should not have been in the event. However, he did not reveal the names of the six horses. The statement has left champion trainer Wayne DaCosta fuming. DaCosta had seven runners in the event and felt fingers were being pointed at some of his horses as not being worthy of being in an event of that magnitude.
