Blake to highlight stars at Camperdown Classic

The likes of Olympic silver medallist Yohan Blake will be among several top athletes who will be in action on Saturday with three track and field meets set to take place across the island. Blake as well as racers clubmate, British sprinter Zharnel Hughes are expected to feature at the Camperdown Classic at the National Stadium.

The 400 metre hurdles event has been adjusted slightly to mimic the ISSA Boys and Girls Championships with the event to be contested in both Classes 1 and 2. Former outstanding Camperdown and national junior representative Remaldo Rose will be the honouree at this year's meet.

The Milo Western Relays which usually features a number of athletes from the UTech/MVP Club, will also take place on Saturday at the Montego Bay Sports Complex starting at 10:00 am. Edwin Allen's Kevona Davis and Petersfield's Antonio Watson are the honourees for this year's meet, while Green Island High School coach Micheal McIntosh will be the patron. The other event on the day will be the annual King of the Ring meet for throwers to be held at Excelsior High School.
