Bloomfield breaks national 400m indoor record

National junior 400 metres record holder Akeem Bloomfield added the senior national indoor record pending ratification, to his growing list of achievements on Friday. Bloomfield, formerly of Kinsgton College, sped to 45.02 seconds while placing second in the heats of the 400m behind American collegiate athlete Michael Norman, who stopped the clock at 45 seconds flat at the 2018 Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational Meet.

Another American Nathan Strother was third in 45.56secs. The previous national record of 45.37 seconds was established by Pete Coley in February 2002.
