Bolt ready to run relays at Commonwealth Games

Six time Olympic Champion Usain Bolt arrived in Glasgow on Saturday ready to join Jamaica's pursuit of a gold medal in the sprint relay.

At a news conference, the Jamaican super-star confirmed he would run both the heats and final of the event. There had been speculation he would only run the final after an injury hit season.

The 27 year old was left bemused in response to some of the questions he was asked during the news conference. He was asked if he had ever worn a kilt, a traditional Scottish wear, what he thought about the conflict in Gaza, and what he thought about Scottish independence.

With several high profile with-drawals from the games, he was also asked if he would withdraw himself.

“Yes, I am here to run I don’t see why else I would travel all this way to Glasgow. When I go on the track, I want the fans to enjoy my performance, always. So for me I always try to bring the energy all the time I go”, Bolt said.

This will be Bolt's first time at the Commonwealth Games.

Events in track and field will get underway on Sunday, starting with the first round of the men's 100 meters.

Live coverage will be on TVJ, starting at 8.30 a.m.
