'Chop Chop' dismantles 'Lion Heart' to reach Contender Series semis

It took just under a minute for the four-time former world WBC lightweight champion DeMarcus ‘Chop Chop’ Corley to move into the semi-finals of the Wray & Nephew Contender Series.

The American who is the pre-series, recorded a first round knockout over Guyanese Revlon ‘Lion Heart’ Lake in the last quarter-final box-off at the Chinese Benevolent Association.

Corley caught Lake with a vicious right to the left temple to leave the Guyanese floored and disoriented after just 55 seconds into the contest.

Corley set up a semi-clash with young sensation Michael ‘Wasp’ Gardener in one semi-final. Richard ‘Frog’ Holmes will fight Tsetsi Lights Out’ Davis in the first semi final on June 8.

The competition now takes a one week break.
