Classic aspirants have final warm-up at Caymanas Park

Native-bred 3 year old fillies, colts and geldings will get their final warm-up on Saturday for the opening leg of the classics at Caymanas Park next month. 11 runners will go to post in the 26th running of the Thornbird Stakes for fillies over 7 furlongs.

Wayne DaCosta's impressive charge Shes A Maneater with champion jockey Omar Walker in the saddle, is the 6-5 morning-line favourite despite giving weight all around.

She's A Maneater who has suffered only one defeat in five career starts so far, has moved impressively at exercise and is expected to figure prominently at the business end.

Another dangerous contender is the Dwight Chen-trained Marlene My Love" who is unbeaten in two starts and continues to look sharp at exercise.

Three time former champion jockey Dane Nelson will take the 7-5 second choice in the morning line odds to the post.

Khaleesi's Revenge from the barn of Phillip Feanny as well as the Anthony ‘Baba’ Nunes pair of Hotline Stakes winner Run All Day with Robert Halledeen and Bilingual with apprentice Linton Steadman, are also highly fancied.

The Prince Consort Stakes for colts and geldings will also have its 26th running over 7 furlongs. A small field of nine will head to start with Wayne DaCosta's Fearless Samurai and Phillip Feanny's Don Chassis who created an upset to win the recent  Sir Howard Stakes being the top two.

Fearless Samurai to be partnered by Walker, will be seeking his third victory from four starts this season and should also get Saturday's distance.

Former champion jockey Shane Ellis will once against partner Don Chassis while Nunes will send out Dontae and Ictus.

Meanwhile, another classic aspirant and champion 2 year old for 2016, Sotomayor will race against older horses for the second time this year when he takes on 12 rivals in an Overnight Allowance contest over a mile.
