Close to 250 schools confirmed for 2017 Kiddies Cricket competition

242 schools have been confirmed for this year's 17th staging of the Scotia Bank/ WICB Kiddy Cricket Competition set to bowl off on February 20. The competition was launched on Thursday at Sabina Park.

The competition which started in 2001, has produced the likes Jamaica Scorpions batsmen Brandon King and Jermaine Blackwood.

The preliminary round of the competition will run from February 20 to March 20, with the top eight teams moving on to the playoff to take place on April 7.

While throwing their support behind the competition, the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) was also quick to point out that all coaches involved in the competition must have at least the basic requirements including taking part in the JCA's child protection course .
