Coach expecting much from Jamaican trio in Windies 'A' squad

Jamaicans John Campbell, Reynard Leverdige and Oshane Thomas have been singled out as players who could make an impact in the upcoming home series between the West Indies 'A' and Sri Lanka 'A' which starts on Wednesday.

Campbell scored four half centuries from 17 innings at an average of just under 30 in the last regional 4-day competition and coach Greame West says he, along with the likes of Montcin Hodge and Vishaul Singh will have a big opportunity to prove themselves in the upcoming series.

He also says fast bowlers Leveridge and Thomas, will pull keen attention because of their ability to bowl with pace, despite just having five first class matches between them.

West adds that it will be interesting to see if both pacers can maintain their speed throughout all four days of a match. The first unofficial ‘test’ will be played at the Trelawny  Stadium starting on Wednesday. The second match will be start on Thursday, October 19 with the third set to bowl off on Thursday, October 26. The teams will also engage in three 50-over matches from November 1-5.
