CONCACAF League of Nations draw set for March 7

The governing body of football in the region CONCACAF has announced that the draw for the inaugural CONCACAF League of Nations will take place on March 7 in Miami, Florida. This tournament will serve as a qualifier for the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup with the 41 member associations to be divided into three leagues.

President of CONCACAF Victor Montaglianni has announced that the reason behind using this competition is to ensure that all nations especially those in the Caribbean utilise all FIFA dates. With this event, the CFU Caribbean Cup as well as the COPA Centroamericana will be dissolved.

The next edition of the Gold Cup will be expanded from 12 to 16 teams. The Reggae Boyz finished runners-up in the 2015 and 2017 editions of the tournament.
