Controversy mars Windies opening game at Women's World Cup

Report on the controversy after the toss was spun for the West Indies/Australia women's game

There was controversy even before a ball was bowled on Monday after West Indies captain Stafanie Taylor won the toss against defending champions Australia in their opening game at the ICC Women’s World Cup in England

Taylor first said West Indies would bat before changing it to ‘bowl’. However, the switch was disallowed by the Match Referee. However, batter Chedean Nation said the team was not affected by the mix up.
