Defending champions Cornwall College turned back Morant Bay high 4-1 as the ISSA/Flow DaCosta Cup 2nd round first leg knockout matches got underway on Wednesday. Manchester High with a three-timer from Ajay Chin, recorded the widest margin of victory, swamping hosts Ewarton 7-1 at Bramwell Sports Club.
Elsewhere on the day, last year's beaten finalist STETHS outscored Cedcric Titus 3-2 at Jarrett Park. Shear Murray gave STETHS a 30th minute lead. Their advantage was stretched further when Daman Henderson made it 2-0 five minutes later. Cedric Titus cut the deficit through Tristan Warren in the 38th minute. However, STETHS restored their two goal advantage when Henderson returned for his second and his team’s third. Cedric Titus got another goal when Kyle Marshall made it 3-2 but all that turned out to be just a consolation.
High-flying Clarendon College ran by Green Island 5-1 also at Jarrett Park. National Under-17 player Nicque Daley scored a hat-trick for Clarendon College while Ricardo McIntsoh and Lamar Walker got the other goals. Glendora Vassel got Green Island's consolation.
In other games, Frome clipped Munro College 1-0, Glenmuir blanked Oracabessa 2-0, Steer Town pipped St Mary Technical 1-0, Fair Prospect and Spot Valley played to 2-2 draw while Bellefield ended 1-1 with Dinthill Technical.
Meanwhile, Central High squeezed out a 1-0 victory over Garvey Maceo in a rescheduled Zone ‘N’ preliminary round contest.
