Cricket West Indies appoints new bowling coach

Former Somerset County Cricket Club captain Alfonso Thomas has been appointed as the new bowling coach for the West Indies senior team. The 41 year old will be part of the delegation to Zimbabwe in preparation for the Cricket World Cup qualifiers next month.

The former South African all-rounder is referred to as the ‘white ball specialist’, having  played 169 List A matches and 225 T20 games. He replaces Barbadian Roddy Estwick.

The West Indies’ technical team will also see the inclusion of David Kershaw as the team physiotherapist and Corey Bocking as the strength and conditioning coach. The West Indies will bowl off action in the World Cup qualifiers on March 6.
