CTL board backs management's decision

The board of directors of Caymanas Track Limited (CTL) has declared its unanimous support for the management team in its decision to terminate the services of 16 members of the Engineering Department on Monday.

The CTL board which met on Thursday, issued a press release in which it indicated that the management's position would be maintained unless it is presented with information to justify a reconsideration of its position.

The board has also assured all interested parties that measures have been put in place for racing to continue without any further disruptions.

In the meantime, another effort will be made to arrive at an amicable resolution when a second meeting  is held at the Ministry of Labour on Friday morning.

Representatives of the Union of Technical, Administrative and Supervisory Personnel (UTASP) and the CTL management will be in attendance.

The union is seeking to have the workers fully reinstated.
