Day of decision for Asafa Powell

Asafa Powell, a Jamaican Olympic relay gold medalist and former world record holder for the 100m, will today know how much longer, if any, his doping violation will keep him out of action.

Powell's sanction will be handed down by the Jamaica Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel.

This comes two days after Sherone Simpson was slapped with an 18 month sentence (retroactive to last June) for the stimulant, oxilofrine. That’s the substance which was also found in urine samples provided by Powell.
