Denbigh into both finals of ISSA rural area netball competition

Denbigh High teams are set to defend their titles in the ISSA  Rural Area senior and junior netball competition. The senior champions disposed of first time semi-finalist Porus High 46-28 in Tuesday's semi-finals at GC Foster College. Denbigh led 11-6 in the first quarter, a lead they would maintain heading into the half time break at 22-16 and extended it to 33-22 at the end of the third quarter before closing out the easy victory.
   
Meanwhile, in the all Manchester battle, favourites Holmwood Technical crushed Manchester High 54-21 to book their place in the final. Holmwood took a 16-6 first quarter lead, before closing out the half 27-12. They ended the third quarter 35-19.

Meanwhile, Denbigh are into their third straight junior final. In the first quarter, they led Manchester High 9- 7 and 18 - 10 at halftime. Holding an 8 goal lead entering the final quarter, Denbigh came away 32 - 23 winners. 

In the other match-up, Glenmuir also secured their place in the final. The first time finalists brushed aside Green Pond after leading all quarters 8-5, 16-8, 30-14 and rounding out the contest 39-23. The finals will be contested on December 5.
