Door open for 'Pocket Rocket' to remain at MVP

Voice of MVP head coach Stephen Francis

It appears the door could still be open for double Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce to continue training at the MVP Track Club.

Reports had emerged following Fraser-Pryce's bronze medal finish at the Rio Games that she would be leaving the camp where she has trained since leaving high school.

Speaking with RJR Sports on Tuesday night, MVP head coach Stephen Francis hinted that Fraser-Pryce may still call MVP home.

“So far I’ve not heard that there’s any concrete change but I heard that there might be changes. Over the next couple of weeks I guess that we’ll find out,” said Francis.

The joint national record holder returned to the island following the Olympics and had a procedure to her toe following an injury she had been carrying since January.

She announced via social media that she is now pursuing a Masters Degree at the University of the West Indies.
