Retired West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo says fellow Trinidadian Kieron Pollard would be an ideal replacement for either Jason holder or Carlos Brathwaite as West Indies captain in the limited overs format of the game. While Holder has had some success in test cricket, he is yet to win a One Day International (ODI) series as captain since taking over in 2014 while the regional team continues to struggle in the Twenty20 format, sliding down the rankings with Brathwaite at the helm.
“Eventually a time will come where the selectors will have to consider a change or something like that. I think I would definitely back Kieron Pollard to be a white ball captain for West Indies whether it’s one day or T20. He’s a very good leader and he leads from the front,” said Bravo. He says a change is needed at the helm in either format to help the ailing fortunes of the regional team.
