Edwin Allen's Class Two 4x100 meter relay team including young sensation Kevona Davis continued their impressive start to the season with yet another record breaking performance after clocking an easy 44.75 seconds to win the event at the 43rd staging of the Gibson/McCook Relays now underway at the National Stadium. Edwin Allen erased the previous mark of 45.01 and finished ahead of St Jago 45.26 seconds and and Holmwood Technical 46.16.
Meanwhile, Kingston College signalled their strength in the sprint relays as they won three of the four classes including a polished performance in Class Two with Terrique Stennett, Adrian Kerr, Javain Johnson and Michael Joseph winning in 42.39 seconds ahead of Calabar and St Jago.
Calabar High's much fancied Class One 4x100 meter team with christopher taylor and without the injured duo of Dejour Russell and Michael Stephens, were disqualified for handing over outside the designated zone after they had initially won the event 40. 20 seconds. Wolmer's Boys were promoted to first in 40.50 seconds ahead of St Jago 40.62 and Kingston College 40.80 seconds. Kingston College won the closing event, the boys’ 4x400m open.
