Excelsior dethrone Innswood of Grace Shield

Excelsior have regained the ISSA Grace Shield Under-19 title after dethroning Innswood by a massive 305 runs on Thursday's last day of their 3-day final at the  Melbourne Oval. Innswood, who resumed the final day on 9-1 chasing an improbable 546 for victory, were dismissed for 240.

Captain Carlos Brown made a gallant fight with a top score of 155 including 7 sixes and 15 fours. Kirk McKenzie bagged 4 for 64 and Brandon English 4-32. The all-island battle for the Spalding Cup will be played in two weeks' time where Excelsior will take on the winner of the Rural Area Headley Cup at Melbourne Oval.
