Exciting Davis headlines Jamaicans in action as World Under-18 Champs gets underway

Ten Jamaicans including sprint double favourite Kevona Davis will be in action on Wednesday's opening day of the final edition of the IAAF World Under-18 Championships in Nairobi, Kenya. The first Jamaican in action will be Tyreke Wilson in heat 5 of the men's 100m at 2:23 am Jamaica time. Kimone Reid the women's discus at 2:40 and Shaquena Foote in heat 3 of the women's 400m at 3:20.

At 3:50 Anthony Cox will go in heat 1 of the men's 400m while compatriot Antonio Watson will take to the track at 4:11. Safin Willis and Owayne Owens will then contest the men's triple jump in the afternoon segment which is 9:25 am Jamaica time.

Tyrese Reid and Kimar Farquharson are listed for the heats of the men's 800m at 9:40 while Kevona Davis bows into action in heat 4 of the women's 100m at 11:03 am.

The semi-finals and final of the men's 100m will be run at 9:00 am and 11:20 am Jamaica time respectively with Tyreke Wilson having the possibility of featuring in those races. TVJ will have a daily one hour highlights package throughout the championships, starting Wednesday at 6:00 pm.
