Barbadian Lisle Austin says he is back at the head of CONCACAF after gaining a court injunction in the Bahamas on Friday.

According to a statement from Austin, the High Court in Bahamas granted a provisional injunction which prevents CONCACAF’s executive committee from inferring with his role as acting president.

CONCACAF’s Statutes establish the Bahamian capital of Nassau as the headquarters of the Confederation and classifies the Organisation as “a Bahamian not-for-profit corporation”.

A week ago, Austin was suspended from acting as president following a decision by the majority of the executive committee.

Austin, a CONCACAF senior vice-president, has been accused of violating the organisation’s statues.

He assumed the position after sitting President, Jack Warner, was suspended by FIFA’s ethics committee pending an investigation into bribery allegations.

In the meantime, the Trinidad and Tobago police say it will approach the world’s football governing body, FIFA, for information in relation to bribery allegations made against Austin ‘Jack’ Warner, its suspended vice president, who is also a senior government minister in the twin island republic.

In an apparent about turn from a previous decision not to initiative investigations into the matter that has gained widespread coverage, the police, in a statement, said while it has not received any official report by any member of society on the allegations “it is our intention to write to FIFA requesting any information which they may have in their possession which may afford us the opportunity of commencing any investigation/s into any alleged criminal activity within our jurisdiction.”
