Former Sunshine Girls captain Simone Forbes has failed in her bid to become a part of netball's local governing body. Forbes lost out 31-20 to long time administrator Cora Ricketts in the contest for second vice- president of Netball Jamaica at Saturday's Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Heart Academy in Half Way Tree.
Ricketts has held the position for the last two years. Forbes, was also unsuccessful in her attempt to become a director of Netball Jamaica, but despite her losses, she is not discouraged and will continue to support Netball Jamaica. KSAFA president Wayne Shaw racked up 52 votes to remain a director.
He was challenged by Netball Jamaica manager Leonie Phinn who polled 37 while Forbes garnered 34 votes. Dr Paula Daley-Morris was unopposed as president while Tricia Robinson was also unopposed as first vice president.
