Simone Forbes, the former captain of jamaica’s senior netball team, has retired from the Sunshine Girls.
Forbes handed a letter to the Jamaica Netball Association, formally
announcing her retirement on Saturday.
This comes two days after the former captain was denied a reduction of her doping ban for the clomiphene.
All hopes of her inclusion in Jamaica's squad for the 2011 World Netball Championships in Singapore in July ended when the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commisison’s Appeals Tribunal upheld the three month ban imposed on Forbes.
The ban ends just days after the World Championship.
Forbes has won two World Cetball Championship bronze medals with Jamaica in 2003 and 2007.
