Former captain Anil Kumble has been appointed India's new coach ahead of the team's tour to
the Caribbean. Kumble who has been given a one year contract, was chosen from 57 applicants for the job.
His appointment comes as a surprise. He has never coached a side but has been a mentor to IPL teams Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
India's tour of the Caribbean starts on July 6.
