Former JC star sets personal best indoors

Former Jamaica College athlete Clayton Brown started his college career with a bang, setting a personal best to win the high jump at the Clemson Orange and Purple Indoor Classic at the weekend.

Brown, a 2014 World Junior Championship finalist, cleared 2.25 metres to improve his personal best from 2.20 metres. His nearest rival on the day cleared 2.20 metres.

Brown who is now at the University of Florida and fellow Jamaican Christoff Bryan are among four freshman athletes to have cleared 2.25 metres in the last four years.
