Former Reggae Boyz U-17 coach departs for TD post in Turks and Caicos

Voice of former Reggae Boys Under-17 coach Andrew Edwards

Former national Under-17 coach Andrew Edwards has accepted a two year deal to become Technical Director of the Turks and Caicos Islands football team. The former Manchester High coach has the option to further extend his deal after the two years. Edwards will oversee all of their national teams from the Under-15 up to the senior team.

Former Tivoli Gardens coach Omar Edwards and Sandals South Coast coach Aaron Lawrence will coach the youth teams. I’m extremely excited about this opportunity. We want to go down to Turks and Caicos Islands and make a big impact and grow on the job as an individual,” he said. Edwards says the aim is ensure youth and senior teams are competitive on the CONCACAF  stage.

“The long term objective is to impact football in a way that people can look on and say some really good work is going on. We would also want to qualify for the World Cup on a consistent basis,” noted Edwards. Andrew Edwards, Omar Edwards and Aaron Lawrence will depart the island on Saturday.
