Gayle among sports personalities to receive national awards

Veteran West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle and renowned MVP Track Club coach Stephen Francis headline seven sports personalities who will be recognized and honoured at Monday's National Honours and Awards Ceremony at King's House. Gayle who has been playing international cricket since 1999 is set to receive the Order of Distinction, Commander Class. 

Gayle and Francis will be conferred with national honours along with fellow cricketer,West Indies women's captain Stafanie Taylor, track and field coach Maurice Wilson, long-time sports administrator Ian Forbes, retired jockey George Hosang and interim Reggae Boyz head coach Theodore 'Tappa' Whitmore. The six sports personalities are among 171 persons who will be conferred with national honours on Monday.
