Veteran Jamaica and West Indies opener Chris Gayle is among three West Indians named in a World X1 to play an Asian X1 in a two-match T20 International Series in Dhaka, Bangladesh next month. Gayle is expected to be joined by fellow Jamaican Sheldon Cottrell as well as Windies limited overs captain Kieron Pollard and fellow Trinidadian Nicholas Pooran in the World X1 squad.
The matches which will be held on Macrh 21 and 22, form part of Bangladesh Nationwide Celebrations to mark the birth centenary of Sheikh Mujibur Rehman often referred to as the father of the nation.
Meanwhile, England's Alex Hales and Jonny Bairstow, South Africa's Faf du Plessis and Lungi Ngidi, Australia's Andrew Tye and New Zealand's Mitchell McClenaghan are other players named so far in the World X1 squad.
Meanwhile IndIan captain Virat Kohli is among six Indian players named in the Asia X1 squad which also includes the likes of Afghanistan's Rashi Khan, Nepal's Sandeep Lamichhane, Sri Lanka's Lasith Malinga and Thisara Perera as well as Bangladesh’s Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mustafizur Rahman, Mahmudullah and Liton Das.
