Ten athletes and members of the coaching staff from GC Foster College and Sprint Tech Track Club who attended last month's IAAF World Athletics Championships in London, were honoured by the college on Thursday.
The ten athletes recognised were 400m hurdles bronze medallist Ristanana Tracey; women's sprint relay bronze medallists Jura Levy, Natasha Morrisson and Shasha-Lee Forbes along with Anastacia Leroy, Anniesha Mclaughlin-Whilby, Ronda Whyte, Yanique Thompson, Demish Gay and Rasheed Dwyer.
“I feel extremely great for the school to be honouring us” said Tracey. Dwyer was also elated at his award.
“GC Foster has always been my home ground. I’ve been here for about nine years so it’s a tremendous feeling,” he said.
Acting principal of GC Foster College Maurice Wilson who is also the head coach of Sprint Tech and was Jamaica's head coach at the World Championships, was also honoured.
