Grooms Association Trophy takes spotlight at Caymanas Park

The inconsistent Sundance from the barn of Robert Darby Snr along with Messithegreat are expected to command the bulk of the betting in the Groom's Association of Jamaica Trophy over 5 furlongs straight, the feature event on Saturday's 10-race card at Caymanas Park. The race is confined to runners in the $250,000 - $200,000 claiming bracket.

The 4 year old Sundance who was once conditioned by Ian Parsard, will now run in the  colours of Robert Darby Snr who claimed the chestnut gelding on March 25, after he finished a disappointing third to Fortuneonehundred going five furlongs round as the  even money favourite.

Elvira from the barn of Michael Marlowe with Delroy Beharie in the saddle, should also have a say in the outcome, after finishing three lengths behind Messitthegreat on March 1. Another interesting event for the fans is race number 9, an Open Allowance contest over 6 and half furlongs.

The improving Gary Glitter from the barn of Dalton Sirjue, last year’s 1000 Guineas winner Nuclear Affair, Crucial Appeal, 2014 2000 Guineas winner Talented Tony K' who won his first race in two years on March 29, should make the race a blanket finish. First post is 12:20 pm with live coverage on TVJ SN and Hitz 92 FM.
