A century from young Guyanese batsman Shimron Hetmeyer highlighted the West Indians’ performance on the opening day of their 2-day tour match against the Northern Suburb District Invitational X1 at the Ian Healy Oval
in Brisbane, Australia.
The Caribbean side closed on 352-8 in their first innings. Hetmeyer slammed 119 off 118 balls, while Kieran Powell made 65. Kraigg Brathwaite also made 43 and Jason Holder 35. Andrew Gode took 2-57. The West Indies are preparing for the opening test against New Zealand starting on November 30 in Wellington.
