Hot apprentices dominate programme at Caymanas Park

The Wayne DaCosta trained Uncle Frank pulled off an upset win in the Overnight Allowance contest over 7 furlongs, the main on Saturday’s 13-race card at Caymanas Park as there was no cup or trophy race on the programme.

Uncle Frank, a 5 year old dark bay gelding who was one of two winners for jockey Phillip Parchment, came through with a powerful run along the rails to win by three-and-half lengths ahead of 12-1 choice My Elle Belle and 11-1 shot Bruce Wayne in a very fast 1 minute, 25-and- four-fifths. Leading rider Christopher Mamdeen and another red-hot apprentice, Reyan Lewis each won three races. Racing continues on Wednesday.
