IAAF council member of global track and field's governing body, the IAAF f, Pauline Davis-Thompson doesn't expect a fall-out between the IAAF and the JAAA after Jamaica's decision to abstain from a vote on reforms late last year.
“As a family we got to pull Jamaica back in. I don’t think it’s going to be as brutal against Jamaica because the athletes are for it as the Athletes Commission voted for it. People will look at it and see it as a decision that was made that was not a good decision,” said Davis-Thompson.
Davis-Thompson also added that Jamaica's decision to abstain from voting on key reforms put forward by the IAAF went against what was discussed at a meeting with members of the North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletics Association, NACAC.
