The latest inspection of lights at Jamaica’s National Stadium has given Major Desmon Brown, General Manager of Independence Park Limited (IPL), confidence that the stadium will be approved for use in the Under 20 CONCACAF Championship next month.
Concerns were raised about the quality of lighting at the National Stadium by CONCACAF inspectors during their first visit.
Captain Horace Burrell, President of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) was among those expressing concern about the stadium's readiness for
the January event, but Major Brown believes those fears will be allayed when the final inspection takes place in January.
Jamaica will be among six of the teams based in Kingston for the early stages of the competition.
The Montego Bay Sports Complex will also be used to host the 12 team championship, set for January 9 to 24.
The semi finals and finals will take place in Montego Bay.
