Inter Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Competitions Officer George Forbes has revealed they have already secured sponsorship for the upcoming schoolboy football season. Communications giants FLOW announced on Thursday that they were not extending their 5 year, $150 million contract with the association for the 2018/19 season.
However, Forbes revealed on Hitz 92 FM's Sports Explosion on Friday morning that a new title sponsor will be announced at the launch of the new season on August 22. He also said ISSA and FLOW wanted to continue their partnership but couldn't find a mutual agreement on monetary terms.
“In real terms, we could not agree on the details for a new contract. We would like to express our gratitude to FLOW for what they have done for the sponsorship of schoolboy football; it has put us in a new light but in life nothing lasts forever and things have to come to an end,” said Forbes.
Forbes also revealed that there will be an all-island knockout competition which will have a similar format to the popular FLOW Super Cup.
