It's D-Day in RSPL

With one round to go in the regular season of the Red Stripe Premier League, five teams are in the spotlight for varying reasons.

Leaders UWI FC on 59 points, are just a point ahead of their closest rivals Humble Lion and a win over fifth placed Portmore United guarantees top place in the league standing and a $1 million.

Meanwhile, Humble Lion have been quietly efficient this season and are at their highest ranking since entering the league four years ago and meet third placed Tivoli Gardens at Effortville. Defending champions Montego Bay United will look to consolidate fourth place as they host relegated Jamalco.

At the other end of the table, three teams, Boys’ Town, Waterhouse and Maverley Hughenden are all in danger of playing parish football next season.

The equation is simple for Boys’ Town, get a point against Arnett Gardens at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex and they are safe. Waterhouse are also in a similar position as they journey to Westmoreland to face Reno.

However, the fate of Maverley Hughenden are out of their hands as they must beat Harbour View and hope either Boys’ Town or Waterhouse lose to stand any chance of survival. All games are set to kick off at 3:30 pm.
