It's 'Mr Smooth' versus 'The Assassin' in Contender Series finale

The 2017 Wray and Nephew Contender Series final will see Team Jamaica’s number 1 Sakima ‘Mr Smooth’ Mullings facing Team Canada’s number 1 Phil ‘The Assassin’ Rose.

Rose secured his place in the final on Wednesday night when he scored a split decision over Richard ‘Frog’ Holmes in the second semi-final at the Mico University College.

Judges David Dumbar and Keith Brown scored the fight 67-66 and 68-65 respectively for Rose while Lindel Allen had it 68-65 for Holmes. The season finale will also be contested at the Mico University College on Wednesday, July 26.

Former Contender Series champion Kemahl ‘Hitman’ Russell will meet Nigel Edwards of Trinidad and Tobago in the undercard.
