JAAA makes submission for Morgan's case

President of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA), Dr Warren Blake says their lawyers were allowed to make a submission in the Jason Morgan case to the ad hoc division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) at the extended deadline on Thursday.

Dr Blake told RJR Sports the association had not initially received notice as the respondent to Morgan on the matter of being excluded from the Jamaican Olympic team. The JAAA boss indicated that they were only made aware of the matter by the Jamaica Olympic Association.

In the meantime, while Morgan's lawyer Dr Emir Crowne on Thursday said he was unsure when sport's highest court will rule on the matter, Dr Blake estimated that a decision could come within 48 hours.

CAS will make its ruling based in the written submissions instead of through a hearing. CAS has not revealed when the ruling, to be made by a three-member panel, would be disclosed.
