Jamaica beat T&T in Davis Cup action

Jamaica defeated Caribbean rivals Trinidad and Tobago 2-1 to secure their second straight victory in Zone 3 action of the Americas Davis Cup in Costa Rica. The win takes Jamaica to the top of Group "B" ahead of Honduras. With both nations locked at 1-1, the pair of Dominic Pagon and Rowland Phillips defeated Akiel Duke and Nabeel Mohammed 6-3, 7-6 in doubles action to take the tie 2-1.

Earlier, Jamaica's Dimitri Bird lost the first rubber 6-7, 7-5, 6-3 to T&T's Mohammed, before Jamaica's Phillips thrashed Duke in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. The Jamaicans who started off the Davis Cup campaign with a 2-1 victory over Panama on Monday, will next face Bermuda on Wednesday.
